How to properly glue the wallpaper

Instructions for pasting wallpaper (butt-to-butt installation)

BEFORE INSTALLATION:
Prepare the walls: the base must be clean, smooth, oil-free and absorbent, the remnants of old wallpaper and roughness removed, paint cleaned, holes and crevices, if any, putty.
Do not use greasy primers, mixtures or compounds that close the surface pores and prevent the penetration of moisture contained in the adhesive.
Observe the temperature regime and avoid drafts until the glue is completely dry. Do not ventilate, heat the glued room or make other repairs until the wallpaper is dry.

SELECTION OF GLUE:
For vinyl wallpaper on a paper or non-woven base, only ready-to-use glue is suitable, which includes PVA. Recommended adhesives: Bartoline universal adhesive (diluted), Beeline universal adhesive (diluted), Bostik super, Casco Lentus, Metylan Ovalit T, or any other with similar characteristics.

PROCESS:
1. Spread the wallpaper back to back on the floor and make sure that all stripes are present, none of them is damaged and the pattern fits correctly. Each panel is numbered at the bottom from left to right . Always check the wallpaper before applying it to make sure there are no manufacturing defects. If you find any defects, please contact us before you start gluing your photo wallpaper. No complaints will be accepted after the wallpaper has been glued. Manufacturing defects are: printing defects, image mismatch on adjoining panels of more than 3 mm, color mismatch of individual strips, color mismatch on the wallpaper and on the sample (color proof). A color mismatch between the wallpaper and the computer monitor is not a defect.
2. Since many walls are not strictly rectangular, you need to draw a thin, inconspicuous vertical line on the wall using a plumb line in order to glue the first panel along it without tilting. Use only regular pencils. Do not use ink pencils, markers, markers, or ballpoint pens.
3. Apply the adhesive evenly to the wall, one panel wide. Glue the first piece of wallpaper onto the wall, smoothing with a rubber roller or plastic trowel from center to edge.
4. Glue the subsequent parts end-to-end, aligning the pattern. Flatten the edges of the panels and roll carefully with a wallpaper seam roller narrow.
It is important to avoid spillage of glue to the front side, as it will leave stains and cannot be guaranteed to be completely removed. The glue must be removed immediately before it dries, otherwise it may react with the ink, which will lead to negative consequences. Glue stains can be removed with a damp cloth, gently “washing” rather than wiping off the surface. During gluing, do not rub the wallpaper surface too hard and for a long time, do not scratch the wallpaper.

IMPORTANT:
• do not use glue in the form of dry mixes
• do not use a metal spatula or cloth (rags, microfiber cloths, etc.) to smooth the wallpaper, all this can easily damage the pattern! Use a rubber roller to smooth the wallpaper. Use a wallpaper seam roller narrow for pressing the seams.

CARE:
The wallpaper is moisture resistant. In case of contamination, stains must be removed immediately, for this, gently wipe without effort with a damp sponge, if necessary, you can use mild detergents, which must then be carefully removed. Do not use alcohol, solvents, harsh detergents and do not rub with force, this may damage the pattern.

The manufacturer’s liability is limited to replacing the wallpaper with manufacturing defects. Claims for the quality of wallpaper are accepted before they are glued. The manufacturer is not responsible for damage to wallpaper due to improper storage, improper installation (gluing), as well as improper use. Claims for color mismatch, color defects, size mismatch, poor image after applying glue to at least one part of the wallpaper or after gluing all or part of the wallpaper are not accepted. The manufacturer is not responsible for damage to the wallpaper due to improper storage, improper installation (gluing), or improper use.

Instructions for gluing wallpaper with an overlap

PROCESS:

  1. Spread the wallpaper overlap on the floor and make sure all stripes are present, none of them is damaged and the pattern fits correctly. All stripes are numbered from below in order from left to right.
Always check the wallpaper before applying it to make sure there are no manufacturing defects. If you find any flaws, please contact us before you start gluing your photo wallpaper.

3. Apply the adhesive evenly to the wall, one strip wide.

4. Glue the first piece of wallpaper onto the wall, smoothing with a rubber roller or plastic trowel from center to edge. Glue the subsequent parts with an overlap, aligning the drawing in accordance with the marks (see Fig. 1).

5. In the center of the joint, cut two canvases under a ruler (it is more convenient to use an even trowel 50 cm) (see Fig. 2). Change the blade as often as possible. Remove the trimmed strips from both canvases.

6. Carefully peel back the non-glued edge of the sheet and coat it with glue using a thin brush (fig. 3). Bring the edges of the strips together and roll carefully using a narrow tapered roller (fig. 4).

IMPORTANT:
• do not use glue in the form of dry mixes
• do not use a metal spatula or cloth (rags, microfiber cloths, etc.) to smooth the wallpaper, all this can easily damage the pattern!
